ELIDA — Elida opened its volleyball season with a 3-0 victory over Miller City by the scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-18. Summer Grogg had 10 kills, Katie Hawk had 12 assists, had Karmyn Martinez eight digs and Aubrey Williams had four aces for Elida. Haley Lammers had nine kills and an ace, Kylee Ricker had six assists and Jana Schroeder had digs and an ace for Miller City.


Maumee 3, Lima Senior 2


Mara Zell had six aces and 22 assists and Sam Cousey had 14 kills and 10 digs for the Spartans.


Botkins 3,


Temple Christian 0


Lynnea Clay had nine kills and four blocks, Lydia Shenk had 11 digs and Kaitlyn Sutton had eight digs and 12 assists for Temple Christian.


Coldwater 3,


Shawnee 0


Coldwater moved to 4-0 on the season with Brooke Welsch finishing with 10 kills and three aces.

LIMA — Emily Sreenan of Shawnee was first in 21:47 followed by teammate Taylor Blythe (22:49).


Boys soccer

Seth Ward and Taran Zwiebel had two goals each for Temple Christian.


Kalida-Wapak postponed


The Kalida-Wapakoneta boys varsity soccer match was postponed due to lightning. No makeup date has been announced.

Westin Young of Lima Central Catholic was the medalist with a 36.

Shawnee won on a fifth-score tiebreaker. Brandon Hernandez of Van Wert had the low round of 39.


NWC tri match


Allen East (173) defeated Crestview (181) and Lincolnview (183). Joshah Rager of Lincolnview had the low round of 36.

Arlington 170


Bluffton won on the fifth score tiebreaker. Rick Strercher led Bluffton with a 40. Cody Rettig of Arlington was the medalist with a 38.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Ada moved to 7-o on the season.

LIMA — Singles player Emily Janowski of Lima Central Catholic only lost one game in her win.


Bluffton 3, Defiance 2


Singles players Maggie Fett and Julliane Hotmire and the doubles team of Sara Bertke and Justine Mitchell won for 2-0 Bluffton.
