LIMA — The host’s Parker Frey took medalist honors with a 2-over 74 at Allen East’s second annual Hawthorne Hills Golf Tournament on Wednesday.
Kalida’s Evan Recker, Zach Erhart and Jeff Knueve each shot a 75 to help secure the team title with a four-score total of 303.
Anthony Wayne (317) was second followed by Shawnee (327), Defiance (337) and Clyde (337). Allen East (352) was seventh, Elida (373) was 10th, Waynesfield-Goshen (383) was 12th, Parkway (390) was 13th and Ridgemont (403) was 14th.
Elida’s Jimmy Ebling won a scorecard playoff with Ridgemont’s Devin Mouser for fifth place after each shot a 77.
CELINA — Medalist Carter Bowman led St. Marys to the team title with a 3-under 69 in the seven-team tournament at the Mercer County Elks.
The Roughriders finished with a team score of 336 followed by Fort Recovery (358), Marion Local (368), Mansfield Madison (370), Coldwater (402), St. Henry (424) and Botkins (467).

LIMA — The Mustangs’ Ariel Schantz had the low round with a 45 on the par 32 inside 9 at Hawthorne Hills.

CELINA — Tori Vaughn of Fort Recovery was the medalist with a 52 at the par 36 Mercer County Elks.
The Lima Senior football and boys soccer teams have been picked to each finish fourth in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference preseason coaches polls.
Toledo Central Catholic and Whitmer tied for first in the football survey and Toledo St. John’s Jesuit was the top boys soccer choice.
The Spartans girls soccer team was selected to finish seventh in the TRAC with Findlay getting the most number of voting points.
