LIMA — The greenhouse at DeHaven Home and Garden Showplace will be echoing with the smooth sounds of jazz as ArtSpace/Lima hosts its sixth annual Jazz at the Greenhouse fundraiser. This year, those in attendance will enjoy the sounds of Columbus’ Urban Jazz Coalition.
“They play contemporary jazz and have played at several festivals, including Rally in the Square,” Kay Van Meter, assistant manager for ArtSpace/Lima, said. “They’re a national recording artist with several albums out.”
Guests will enjoy food catered by Fat Cat Diner, along with free appetizers. Also, the gallery is providing other incentives to bring out the crowd Saturday night.
“There are several items donated by local artists that will be part of our silent auction,” Van Meter said. “We have a door prize just for walking in. You could win four free tickets to the Lake Improvement Association Caribbean Nights Valentine Luau.”
Holding this fundraiser at the greenhouse has provided ArtSpace/Lima with a unique venue, and it promises to be quite a sight.
“The greenhouse will be festively decorated,” Van Meter said. “It’s the premier kickoff Christmas event.”
All of the proceeds will help pay for the operating expenses of the local art gallery
“This is what we’re here for to keep the doors of this beautiful gallery open to the public,” Van Meter said.
