SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — St. Rita’s Professional Services celebrating the grand opening Tuesday of a new office that combines family medicine with non-surgical cosmetic and spa treatments, diet improvement and weight management.
Dr. Ana Pere and Dr. Glen Aukerman are family physicians first, but both also offer additional programs and treatments. Both have their own diet and nutrition management plans. Pere also offers the cosmetic procedures, skin care and mineral makeup. Both doctors have seen what customized diet plans and going beyond traditional care models have done for patients trying to lose weight or concerned about specific conditions.
“We’re focused on family medicine, wellness, prevention and also rejuvenation,” Aukerman said.
The office opened in July and is located at 2745 Fort Amanda Road, just west of Shawnee Road. The office offers family medicine for adolescents and adults and is accepting new patients. The building formerly housed another medical office. St. Rita’s Professional Services took over the space and added on to the building.
The spa includes laser treatments, hair removal, wrinkle filler and cheek and lip enhancement.
“It’s where health meets beauty,” Pere said. “We get people healthy inside, and get them looking beautiful outside. Feeling better, and looking better.”
Aukerman was a family doctor in Jackson Center before working on President Bill Clinton’s health care reform efforts, serving as a medical director of Nationwide and Ohio State University health plans and medical director of OSU’s Center for Integrated Medicine.
Pere became interested in cosmetic procedures while working as a family physician in Louisiana and when she came to practice in the Lima area, she approached St. Rita’s about developing the services locally.
