LIMA — The Summer Crisis Program at Lima Allen Council on Community Affairs, which began Tuesday, will continue through Aug. 31.


The agency is also expanding its Home Energy Assistance Services to Auglaize and Mercer counties.


The HEAP program is available at Sources Community Network in Celina and will be available at Mercy Unlimited Inc. in Wapakoneta beginning Monday.


To be eligible a customer must have a total household income at or below 175 percent below federal poverty guidelines to be eligible. Someone in the household must be older than 60 or suffer from a chronic illness. If on tenant-based HUD Section 8, the customer must provide documentation showing he or she is responsible for the electric bill. The customer must also provide documentation of income for all adult household members along with Social Security numbers for all household members, a current gas and electric bill, and a chronic illness form if under 60 and requesting utility assitance/and or an air conditioner.


Customers who declare zero income must provide documentation of how they are maintaining food, shelter, utilities, and other basic needs.
