Liberty doubled up visiting West Jefferson Saturday in Powell, using a balanced offensive attack to notch a 6-3 non-league win.
The Patriots (12-5) broke the scoring seal with a run in the first inning before scoring three in the third and two in the fifth. West Jefferson scored all three of its runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
Madison Kadlic led the charge at the plate with a perfect 3-for-3 showing featuring two singles and a double. Kristen Adkins, who struck out eight en route to picking up the win in the circle, was 2 for 3 with a double and single at the plate, Bailey Ankrim was 2 for 3 with a double and single, Tiffany Hart was 2 for 3 with a pair of singles while Randi Noday and Meredith Bates each had singles in the win.
•Hayes picked up a pair of lopsided non-league wins over visiting Ready Saturday, winning by margins of 11-1 and 13-3, both in six innings.
The Pacers (17-1) were tied with the visitors 1-1 through three innings in the opener, but got the offense on track in the late going. They scored a run in the fourth to break the tie before adding four in the fifth and five in the sixth to smooth out the scoring summary. Mikayla Cooper provided the big blow — a two-run homer in the sixth.
Madi Huck, meanwhile, picked up the win in the circle, allowing just the one run on four hits in her six innings of work.
The offense kept clicking in the nightcap, with Hayes hanging crooked numbers in three of its six trips to the plate — three in the first, two in the third and six in the fifth. The Pacers added single tallies in the second and sixth to smooth out the scoring summary.
Cooper, who went the distance in the circle, was credited with the win.
