I encourage the residents of Putnam County to take a closer notice of who is representing them and how they are using that authority, is it for your best interest?
We are spending thousands of dollars in our country fighting against bullying, trying to educate parents and teachers how to recognize and respond to such issues with their children and for children so they understand it’s not acceptable behavior, but what are we doing in the workforce? When someone doing an exemplary job is dismissed, doesn’t that throw up a red flag?
That being said I would like to thank Shelly Burkhart for the great job she has done for the Putnam County Board of Elections. Her dedication and commitment to her job is only a glimmer of her qualities as a human being.
Shelly and her co-workers have worn many hats these past years as students (keeping up on all the criteria and mandates that are ever changing), teacher (sharing her knowledge and improving on past procedures while being sensitive to the voters needs), counselor (guiding and supporting) and budgeting (saved county thousands) are a few of their daily duties.
Most people have no idea what this job involves, myself included, but Shelly gave her all as she does in everything. She is bigger than the dramatics going on in the Putnam County politics and it’s their loss.
Good luck Shelly and “trust” you will be missed.
