In Cincinnati, we have enriched the city with wonderful displays of public art murals throughout the city on walls, which capture the spirit and history of our great community.
Artworks, a nonprofit group, has engaged the skills of talented artists to paint on selected walls, subject matter that highlights history, people events, and collages of objects related to businesses in the downtown district. To see some of the murals go to http://artworkscincinnati.org to see how the collaboration between the city officials, Artworks, and its volunteer artists have come together to give the residents and visitors vibrant art murals to focus their eyes on and enjoy.
The city of Lima needs to see how the arts can enhance the visual landscape of its buildings, make its residents aware of its rich history and add sparkle to the walls of drab buildings.
I support Diane Rogers’ efforts to justify the two murals being questioned by members of Lima City Council and maybe if the council would just look about 100 miles south of the city, they would see how great wall murals can be for Lima’s image.
