OAK HARBOR – A bomb threat was received at the Oak Harbor Middle School and Oak Harbor High School in separate phone calls around 2:39 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
OHHS students are dismissed from school at 2:40 p.m and were quickly loaded onto buses already present and sent home at the regular time.
Middle School students were directed to exit the building and waited at the football field until buses were there to transport them home.
The campuses of OHHS and OHMS were closed, and all practices, contests, and other events were cancelled for that day.
Law enforcement and fire department officials were on the scene immediately and were going through all classrooms and lockers to ensure the safety of both buildings.
Law enforcement and fire officials from Oak Harbor and around the county searched through both Oak Harbor High School and Oak Harbor Middle School to clear and secure the buildings at about 5:30 p.m. Classrooms, locker rooms, lockers, and all spaces of both buildings were searched and nothing was found. Officials determined that both buildings were clear and classes were resumed the following day.
The incident is still under investigation.
