LIMA — The City of Lima Parks Department has a new park ranger, bringing the total number of rangers in the force to four.
Brandon Buehler was sworn into office Wednesday by Mayor David Berger and is expected to join the force in early spring after the completion of an 18-week dual training program with the Lima Police Department.
Buehler is a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. After working for a brief time in the private sector, he entered law enforcement, gaining experience with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.
Park rangers have full arrest power and are mandated to administer safety and security of parks and recreational sites in the city, as well as recreational programming. Rangers also assist with surveillance of the city’s reservoir system.
