Kraft Memorial Stadium film wins Emmy
The story of Kraft Memorial Stadium in Elida received an Emmy Award in the category of Sports Features.
The four-minute feature films tells the story of Elida’s Football stadium named after student-athlete Roger Kraft, who lost his life in 1959 after a helmet-to-helmet head injury. John Ondo, an Elida grad, produced and shot the documentary-style feature with interviews from Roger Kraft’s surviving family, as well as a leading sports medicine expert from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Ondo owns Ondo Media in Columbus. The story was first aired on WTLW-TV44 last fall and is available online.
ODNR Forester John Mueller recognized
John Mueller, a service forester for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources was recently recognized by the Ohio Foresty Association as the outstanding individual in government service for the state of Ohio.
Mueller serves Allen, Auglaize, Defiance, Hardin, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Williams counties. He was praised by the association for his effort in the field of forestry-related conservation work.
Mueller has been a service forester in northwest Ohio since 2007 and has served as an inspector for the OFA Master Logger Program for many years. He offers free, expert advice and guidance for the long-term care of family-owned woodlands, as well as information on qualification for property tax incentives under the Ohio Forest Tax Law and pointers on boundary establishment, forest health, selling timber, best management practices to prevent erosion and managing for wildlife.
Dentist joins Health Partners of Western Ohio
Dr. Dikshant Kathuria, DDS, has joined the Bryan Community Health Center of Health Partners of Western Ohio.
Dr. Kathuria has five years experience in the dental field. He is accepting new patients.
Lima Senior grad’s company awarded contract
Howard Video was recently awarded a three-year contract to provided multimedia services to NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley. This is the largest contract to date for the company, owned by Roger Daniel, a 1972 graduate of Lima Senior High School and a member of its Hall of Fame.
Howard Video has been a federal contractor since 2003. This company has also videotaped Redskins’ and Ravens’ NFL games for visiting TV stations. The company provided crews for American Idol and produced more than a dozen live productions with President Barack Obama at the Department of the Interior. The company has also done a public service announcement with the Jonas Brothers and the Secretary of the Interior at the White House.
