A local Allstate agent was recognized for his service to his customers and his commitment to the community.
Martin Mitchell has owned his Allstate agency in Delaware since 2008 and was awarded with the Premier Service Agency designation, which is given to agency owners who have demonstrated excellence in delivering an accessible, knowledgeable and personal customer experience, and in achieving outstanding business results.
Fewer than 38 percent of Allstate’s nearly 10,000 agency owners across the country receive the Allstate Premier Service Agency designation.
“It’s a very nice distinction to have,” Mitchell said. “It’s a customer service award and they recognize the top agents in the country.”
Mitchell said he moved his agency from a location on Central Avenue to 51 N. Sandusky St. a year ago to become more visible in the community.
“We’re happy to be part of the Delaware community,” he said. That’s why he continues to be a part of First Friday and other community events.
The award is measured by benchmarks for sales, but is given more for customer service, he said.
“I’m just very pleased and honored to be recognized by the company,” Mitchell said. “We try to treat everybody like family. We are not pressure sales or anything like that. We give people information and try to teach them about insurance and risk management. I think people react to that and that additional knowledge and the time we take with each customer.”
Mitchell said though his agency reached a number of goals in 2013, he is not done.
“We’re still setting our goals,” he said. “We’re going to try to reach out and do more in the commercial area.”
