Students will begin semester with visit from author

About a dozen students will come to Bluffton for a start-of-the-summer residency, which will include a visit from author Bill Grace.

The new Collaborative Master of Business Administration program, started by Bluffton and Eastern Mennonite universities and Goshen College, will begin with an orientation program and a class on Leadership for the Common Good. Grace, who wrote the book, “Sharing the Rock: Shaping Our Future through Leadership for the Common Good,” will be coming to the class for a day.

Jim Smucker, director of the Collaborative MBA and dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Eastern Mennonite, said that their goal is to make the beginning of the semester stimulating academically.

The 23 visitors came as part of a continuing exchange program between the two universities. In addition to Bluffton, they will visit Bowling Green State University, Lima, Toledo and Dearborn, Michigan, during their stay.

The educators will also spend an evening in homes of Bluffton faculty members to experience how American families live, as a group of Bluffton students did when they traveled to China last year.
