The weather has canceled several high school sporting events that had been slated for this evening.

Oberlin basketball games have been postponed. Both teams will now face Fairview at 7 p.m. Monday. The Lady Phoenix game versus the Firelands Falcons is still on for tomorrow at 7 p.m.

The Wellington Lady Dukes basketball game versus the Falcons has been delayed until Feb. 17.

In Amherst, signing day celebrations for athletes Kylie Haslage, Julie Lacock, and Olivia Morales have been moved from this afternoon to tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the Steele High School media center.

The good news: Law enforcement agencies from Amherst to Wellington have continued throughout the day to report relatively few crashes due to the weather.

An estimated six inches of snow has fallen since last evening. Our winter storm warning is set to expire by 5 p.m.

UPDATE:

- Lorain County Community College in Wellington is closed.

- Jamie’s Flea Market in South Amherst is closed.
