LIMA — Forest “Bud” Sheipline, of Lima, celebrated his 100th birthday, July 5, 2014. A celebration was held at his daughter’s home.
He was born July 5, 1914 in Wapakoneta to Elbert and Dorothea (Hengstler) Sheipline. On June 20, 1937, he married Eleanor Fetter and she died Dec. 4, 1981.
He has two daughters, Martha Ann (Loren Keith) Myers, of Lima and Rebecca Keller, of Cary, NC. He has 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Sheipline retired from Montgomery Ward.
He is a member of Harrod Christian Church.
Sheipline says, “The good old days” weren’t always so good. He recently tried out one of the grandkids’ IPad. He also has a joke or story for every situation.
He enjoys reading The Lima News cover to cover daily, and loves the monthly family get-togethers. He still participates in the crop planning on his farm.
