LIMA — Vanessa Stegg, 12, has been a lifelong dancer. She has now coupled her skills with singing and playing the violin.
She is hoping to turn her talent into a pageant crown later on.
Stegg has entered the Miss Ohio International Pre Teen Pageant. She has learned dancing at home, not participating at a dance studio. She also has been playing the violin for two years and sings in the choir at Lima South.
“I want to be in the pageant because I think it will help others realize their dreams,” Vanessa said.
Vanessa is the daughter of Dario and Autm Stegg, of Lima. She is a member of a large family, with seven siblings.
“I think it will be a great opportunity to meet new people,” Vanessa said. “I am hoping to become friends with a lot of them.”
Vanessa said she participates in all styles of dance, and she plans to dance for the talent portion during the pageant. She is also excelling as a student, getting all A’s and B’s regularly. Her dream is to be involved with the performing arts when she gets out of school.
“I am hoping I can go to a dance school,” Vanessa said. “I would like to be a dancer.”
Vanessa said she enjoys playing baseball and plays every summer. She also enjoys sewing, and has made many items including a summer dress.
