Community chili cook-off scheduled in Bluffton


Chili Cook-off, 5:30-7 p.m., Bluffton Middle School, 116 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. Proceeds benefit Bluffton Community Assistance Program. Cost: $5, includes chili tastings and drink. Entertainment, gift basket and prize drawings for donated canned/box food items.

BLUFFTON — A chili cook-off to benefit the Bluffton Community Assistance Program will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium.

A $5 tasting fee includes a sample of chili dishes from chefs from Bluffton Presbyterian Church, Emanuel United Church of Christ and Bluffton Baptist Church. The fee will also include a drink, with hot dogs, shredded chicken sandwiches, chips and baked goods also available for sale. St. John’s United Church of Christ and First United Methodist Church will also supply food items for the event.

Entertainment will be provided by Dancers Elite and Krystie’s Music Studio.

Donations of canned and boxed food items, paper products, cleaning supplies and pet food will be welcomed during the event, with donors entered into a gift basket drawing.
