GLANDORF — Deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 8:54 a.m. Nov. 11 concerning threats made toward a teacher at Glandorf Elementary School, which is located next to the church.
The parish received a call from the father of a student at the school, and during the conversation, the father made threats toward a teacher at the school. Deputies arriving at the scene immediately put both the school and the parish on lock down. Out of concern for safety, Father Tony Fortman from the church called the subject, Johnathon Alan Gillette, 27, of Ottawa, back to keep him on the phone until law enforcement arrived. Gillette was still on the phone when the Ottawa Police Department arrived to arrest him on charges of inducing panic and aggravated menacing.
Gillette was arraigned in Putnam County Municipal Court and remanded to the Putnam County Adult Detention Facility with bond set at $3,000.
