Tobacco shop in St. Marys robbed at knifepoint

ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Police Department was investigating a robbery that took place at Lester’s Tobacco Shop, 1592 Celina Road, on Wednesday.

According to the report, the holdup alarm activated at 6:01 p.m. when a man with all black clothing and a black ski mask entered the store carrying a large knife and demanding money. The man left on foot, but the employee was unable to give a direction.

A K-9 officer was called to the scene to help with the investigation. The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. The incident remained under investigation late Wednesday.
