VAN WERT — Broadway’s “42nd Street” comes to Niswonger Performing Arts Center for two shows Sunday.
“I’ll tell you that we’ve really grown the audience for Broadway. It wasn’t always necessarily that way. People I think have tasted it, and they’ve learned that they love music set to a story. ‘42nd Street’ does just that,” said Tafi Stober, marketing director.
“42nd Street” is the 14th longest running show in Broadway history.
“It’s the quintessential Broadway play with one of the largest dance troupes to ever hit our stage, ever. When people think Broadway and razzle and dazzle and glitz and glamour, it’s all because of this show. There are so many songs that come from this. The thing is people know the songs, but they don’t really know the story. I’m extremely excited about it,” said Stober.
It’s a show everyone in the family will appreciate.
“It’s a good introduction to Broadway because it’s such a fast-paced show that there’s no time for boredom for the younger ones. The dancing is just so cool. It is an awe-inspiring show,” said Stober.
