Brinkman

Harry was an auto mechanics teacher and faculty manager at Ottawa Glandorf schools.

Harold J. Brinkman was in the Navy Reserve. He took his basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois. While in the reserves, he was a Signal Man, ending with a First Class rating. He was stationed on the air craft carrier USS Kitty Hawk CV 63, home based in San Diego, California. While on the Kitty Hawk, he visited many ports, including Hawaii. Harry was on leave in Ohio when President John F. Kennedy visited the ship but he did get to see Bob Hope’s Christmas show one year. He learned many things on the ship, including playing craps and poker, which he taught his younger brothers and sisters when he got back home. He became a second mom to his family when his mother became so sick, and he really kept the family together after her passing.
