LIMA — Gerald B. Michael is celebrating his 91st birthday with a family dinner.
He was born March 15, 1926, in Lima, to Bernard and Hazel Waltermire Michael. He was first married to Joan Evans and later married Betty Miller Delaney.
He has two children, William (Darla) Michael, of Cincinnati, and stepdaughter Marsha Delaney. He has five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A grandchild is deceased.
He worked at Nickel Plate Road, Artkraft Manufacturing and the tank depot before joining the Army and serving with the Army Corps of Engineers in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war, he spent most of his working days in the automotive business. He is a member of the DVA, American Legion and life member of the Elks.
