Grand jury gets accused stabber's case

LIMA — Lonnie Rader entered the courtroom Tuesday making obscene gestures and cussing at a detective.

The 42-year-old Lima man accused of stabbing his ex-wife and a man who was at her home calmed down enough to waive a preliminary hearing Tuesday sending his case to a grand jury. Rader is charged with felonious assault but that could change.

Rader is charged in the June 15 stabbing of Tiffini Fisher, 38, and Chad Esmonde, 42. He forced his way into his ex-wife’s trailer and stabbed both multiple times according to authorities. Both survived.

Rader took his ex-wife’s car and drove away from the scene. A detective reached him on his cellphone and talked him into turning himself in.
