Columbus Grove baseball goes to 9-1

Columbus Grove won for the ninth time in 10 games and raised its record in the Northwest Conference to 3-0 with a 12-1 win over Ada in high school baseball on Thursday.

Josh Verhoff drove in four runs for Columbus Grove with a two-run double and a two-run single. Cody Griffith had three RBIs on a single and a groundout.

Elisha Jones got the win. He allowed three hits and one run and struck out six.

Bluffton 0

Bryce Richardson threw a five-hit shutout for the Knights (5-3, 3-0 NWC). Jake Harmon and Cam Etzler each had two hits.

Bluffton is 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the NWC.

Doug Sanders went 3 for 4 and Eric Jordan allowed five hits and struck out nine for the Wildcats in their non-league win.

Mason Gross and Nathan Wilker had three hits each and Nathan Vogel, Brandon Coffey and Isaac Fitzgerald had two hits each for the Roughriders. Fitzgerald had three RBIs and Gross and Coffey drove in two each.

Celinaís Jimmy Luebke had three hits and three RBIs and Kaleb Kuhn and Aric Fickert had two hits each.

Derek Rindler, Garrett Stout, Devin Froning and Mitchel Stammen all had two hits for St. Henry (10-2).

Fort Loramie dropped to 7-9 with the loss.

Liberty-Benton scored twice in the first inning and never gave up the lead. Brent Riepenhoff had a double and a single for Miller City.

Whitmer (8-5, 3-1 TRAC) scored five runs in the top of the first and added four more in the second inning to take control of the game early.

Lima Senior (0-7, 0-5 TRAC) got its run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Taylor Lucas went 4 for 4 for the Indians, who scored nine runs in their final three innings to break up what was a close game through 3 Ĺ innings.

Shawnee is 12-0 overall and 4-0 in the Western Buckeye League. Pitcher Kay Shick improved to 10-0 on the season.

Van Wert is 6-5 overall and 1-2 in the WBL.

Bobbi Heckel got the win. She allowed two hits and struck out six.

Sierra Fentís three-run home run in the third inning gave Parkway a lead it never lost. It was her fourth home run of the season.

Ashlynn Henderson had two hits and Maddie Roehm and Selena Burtch got their first varsity hits.

Winning pitcher Kyle Snyder struck out nine and allowed five hits. She also had two RBIs.

A seven-run fourth inning by the Mustangs sent them on their way to a one-sided win.

Kaycee Rowe went 3 for 4, drove in two runs and stole three bases for the Mustangs (11-5, 2-2 NWC). Erin Conkle and Sierra Sizemore each had two hits.

For Jefferson (0-8, 0-3 NWC), Hanna Sensabaugh and Jasmine McDougall had two hits.

Becca Bean hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to win it for the Eagles.

Bean went 3 for 3 with a single, double and home run. For Miller City, Morgan Inkrott was 2 for 4.

Mallory Bowen went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Terra Crowle was 3 for 3 and Kirstin Hicks drove in three runs for the Knights (7-4, 3-0 NWC).
