On my most recent visit to Nigeria there were so many new experiences, and the lessons truly were not few. I never know quite what to expect on these journeys, but my focus must be upon the Lord. I have learned never to anticipate, but to trust the Lord and take whatever it is as it comes, knowing that I always have the victory in the Lord.

This journey took me to the far north where all of the trouble has been with boko haram. This is the area where the church bombings and the kidnapping of all of those young ladies has taken place. It is imperative that I know, first of all, that I have been sent there. Once I know that, I will go anywhere and do whatever I am told.

This is what blesses me about these trips, in the midst of all of the danger, in the midst of boko haram and all they are doing, our God is still moving people are still being saved and delivered and set free. I look at it like this: Someone has to go, so why not me?

We cannot refuse to go because of danger. Danger is everywhere even in peaceful nations. People are still dying and sick. The key is that we must be sent — we cannot just go. That is over, if you plan to be successful in the Kingdom of God. If you plan to be used by the Lord, you are going to need to wait to be sent, wait for instructions and directions and proper timing. The one word that separates the called from the chosen is one word — obedience.

I believe in supernatural provision and supernatural preservation. Whenever and wherever I go, I know that there are legions of God’s angels around me when I wait to be sent. I would not believe that if I just go on my own. Those young girls were kidnapped while I was in Nigeria. The bomb went off while I was in Nigeria. I was only two minutes away when it went off. And, if it had gone off three days earlier, I would have been right in the midst of the explosion — maybe dead.

But I was not. I belong to the Lord, and I am not going to leave this earth until it is my time. To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. Now that is a win, win situation. I cannot lose either way you go. When it is your time, it is your time and there is nothing that you can do about it.

So many wonderful things happened in the midst of trouble. Miracle after miracle took place. The greatest miracles were all of the souls that came into the kingdom.

I cannot tell you the importance of discernment in these times. In Nigeria, one of the greatest problems is that you do not know who boko haram is. Sometimes they are in your meetings, they are in the government, they are in the military, and they are among police officers. They are high-ranking officials.

It is imperative that we are led forth by the Holy Spirit of God. I am a bottom-line person, therefore, it really does not matter where you are or what you are doing, if you are being led forth by the Spirit of God. Either we are going to trust the Lord or we are not. What is it going to be? The choice is yours. If you are not trusting, you are in trouble. If you are trusting, you are safe in the arms of the Lord. He said who can pluck you out of my hands? We know the answer to that, no one can.

I have the assurance that wherever I am, I am surrounded by His angels, and He is no respecter of persons. If He does it for me, surely He will do it for you. In the days to come, we will need that assurance in Him. The rage of the Devil is greater because he knows that his days are limited because Jesus is on His way back.
