BOTKINS — Area seamstresses are invited to participate in a Pillowcase Dress Sew-a-thon starting at 9 a.m. March 15 at the St. Lawrence Hall on Botkins Road, east of Botkins.

The event, sponsored by the Social Justice Commission of the Petersburg Parishes of Botkins Immaculate Conception, Wapakoneta St. Joseph and Rhine St. Lawrence churches, is to make simple dresses and shorts to send abroad with Christian missionaries to children.

People who cannot sew are still welcome to attend to cut fabric and help in other ways. People also are welcome to bring remnants and new or very gently used pillowcases, as well as buttons, ribbon or any notions that might be used to “trim” the clothing.

Lunch will be provided to participants. For logistical purposes, those who plan to attend should let organizers know by March 12. For more information, call Rachel Barber at 419-738-4924 or Patty Mack at 937-693-3163.
