LIMA — Farron Michael “Mike” Harpest, 58, died Dec. 7, 2012, at his residence in Bath Township.



He was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Lima to Gene W. Harpest and Loretta Stalnaker Carter. He was a 1972 graduate of Allen East High School. Mike married Riki Bolender on Nov. 9, 1973. She survives at home.



Mr. Harpest worked in assembly and ran tow motors for the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant for 30 plus years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, boating, collecting antiques and especially spending time with family and friends.



He is survived by his wife Riki Harpest; son, Jeff Harpest, of Lima; daughter, Angie (Bob) Norbeck, of Pinellas Park, Fla; mother, Loretta (John) Carter, of Lima; and grandchildren, Krista and Jessica Norbeck and Leah Harpest. He is also survived by his twin brother, Mitch (Janet) Harpest, of Perrysburg; a sister, Andrea (Tim) Kuehl, of Wapakoneta; and brothers, Vince (Shelly) Harpest, of Lima, and Steve (Heather Yohey) Harpest, of Cridersville.



He was preceded in death by his father, Gene W. Harpest.



Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Siferd Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
