Kathryn “Kathy” Hawisher Almich, 57, of Cary, N.C., formerly of Lima, died Sept. 29, 2010.
She was born May 11, 1953, in Lima to Henry A. and Rosalie E. Sproul Hawisher. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives.
Mrs. Almich attended Lowell Elementary School and Lima Senior High School. She was a 1975 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. She was a computer systems analyst at Research Triangle Institute in Research Triangle Park, N.C., and had taught at U.C. and at the University of Rochester in New York. She was admired by all for her meticulousness, her kindness and her loving care of friends and family. She was very artistic and had a passion for music, gardening and genealogical study. Her children are very blessed. They will especially love and remember her always, as well as all of her family and friends.
Survivors also include a daughter, Lara Marie Almich; a son, Ryan Patrick Almich; a sister, Lynne Moench; a brother, Gary Glenn Hawisher; and four nephews, Dennis, Kevin and Peter Hawisher and Henry Moench.
Memorial services will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at Apex United Methodist Church, Apex, N.C. Pastor Powell Osteen will officiate.
